July in the Finger Lakes, There's no better Summer Vacation Spot!

Planning a trip to the Finger Lakes in July is a great time of the year to be here. All the lakes are alive and there are so many things to choose from we can't possibly list them all here, but we'll give you several great options to think about when you’re planning your next vacation.

Starting right off, Independence Day celebrations are everywhere. Nothing like watching the fireworks over Lake Otisco or Skaneateles. Our property is a great option to sit right by our firepit and view the local firework shows put on over Lake Otisco, but if you are looking for a larger celebration close, try the New York State Fairgrounds, just 25 minutes away. 9:45 p.m. on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2. There are carnival rides starting at 4 p.m. on Jul1 and until 10 p.m.; noon to 10 p.m. on July 2 and noon to 8 p.m. on July 3. and you can also visit our neighboring town of Preble. 9:30 p.m., Saturday, July 2, Dwyer Memorial Park, Little York Lake Road. Fireworks are preceded by craft vendors, food, and live entertainment beginning at 4 p.m. until the fireworks begin. Park gates open at 8 a.m. $5 per car.

With the summer in full swing, take advantage of a pontoon boat rental on Otisco Lake or Skaneateles Lake or take a Dinner or Sunset Cruise. Get out on the water and enjoy the day.

Looking for a perfect midday trip, check out the many wineries in the area, cute main street towns and shops of upstate New York, and some amazing restaurants throughout the area

Scheduled throughout the summer months are plenty of outdoor summer concerts and music activities, from Beak & Skiffs live music and outdoor concert series to the Amphitheater at Anyela's Vineyard. Nothing says summertime like some great live music with family and friends.

If you love the outdoors, check out the many hiking trails that lead to some of the best waterfalls in the state. Nothing like a great hike culminating with a magnificent waterfall view and even an opportunity at some of the waterfalls to jump right in and cool down and relax in nature. Check these out online if you love being out in nature. Labrador Hollow Unique Area, Bucktail Falls, Montville Falls, Carpenter Falls, Ithaca Falls, Taughanock Falls, and Watkins Glen to name a few of the best.

We look forward to hosting your next July get away.
